Who is Truly the Paladin in the Hero’s Journey

June 19th, 2008

The interrogation is of import because authors need to cognize the valued function of their characters. The postdating determinations are deduced after having deconstructed one Cs of successful narratives.

There are a figure of possible answers:

a) The Champion is the person with the most screentime - the person who has the most attending of the photographic camera. This is really a full reply, but there are lots of fantabulous flicks / narratives where screentime is partaken in (When Hassle came across Crack (1989), Pulp Fable (1994), Red River (1948) etc). So this answer is not rather acceptable.

b) The Paladin is the person that changes / transmutes the most. This is inaccurate. In Back to the Future (1985), George McFly is the person who changes most. In Beverly Mound Cop (1984), Rosewood tree changes the most, not Axel Foley. This answer excepts mature, highly heroes.

c) The Fighter is the person who has his challenges minded: Paladins have an Interior, Romantic and Out Challenge [and every now and then more still]. This is too wrong because former [fertile] characters, notably Shape Sceneshifters and Mentors, too have their challenges minded. In Back to the Future (1985), Doctor [the Wise man] too has a challenge: to last the Libyan terrorists. This is only one representative.

d) The Champion is the person who holds dead on target to their bass value. This is wrong as the Hero’s Journey is about Shift: it is common, in fact it is mutual, for the Paladin to modify his or her bass notions.

e) The Champion is the person that passes through the stages of the Hero’s Journey. The Champion makes not ever passes through [all or some of] the stages of the Hero’s Journey (Red River (1948), Pulp Fable (1994) etc).

f) There is no need to be fictional character specific: the vital number is that the narrative pass through the stages of the Hero’s Journey. We like this answer best.
