Southerly Paseo - Duke of Wellington

September 22nd, 2008

The Southerly Paseo is one of the best and possible, the most undervalued walks in First Duke of Wellington. Most Wellingtonians consider of the walk up and down Mt Queen Victoria as being the complete Southerly Walk. But, there is literally hours more to it. The Southerly Walk passes through a dozen or so Wellington icons and covers about eleven klicks. Most citizenry can spread over the entire walk in about four to five hours.

Its best to believe of the Southerly Walk as a complete day walk, peculiarly if you wish to halt and research the items of involvement along the fashion. Some of the advocated floater to be realised are: Mt Queen Victoria Summit, Bronze Cannon, William Byrd Remembrance, Truby Male monarch Firm and Gardens, First Duke of Wellington Zoological garden, The Livelihood on The Esplanade and Island Embayment. Apart from the topographic points that can be saw on the fashion, there are likewise rather a few Iron Duke icons that can be realized from the walk letting in Te Dad, Basinful Reserve, Queens Whark, Westpac Arena, Duke of Wellington Drome and lots of others. Most of these can be realised from the Mt Vic Sentry Point, on the mode up the mount or on the fashion back.

There is detailed info and maps uncommitted on First Duke of Wellington Urban center Councils site. I would extremely urge this walk to anybody knifelike on a decent day walk on a clear Arthur Wellesley day!
