A Supplication for the Grangers
June 19th, 2008With so plenty of farmers acquiring extinct of the business of raising due to sore moo disease, small money for their crops, littler menages, metropolis using up all over the fecund farm land, big business locomoting in on and using up all over little farms, I thought it was time to recognise the full that the farmers do for us.
Veggies do not turn in cans.….kernel makes not fall from trees. Without the farmers, we would be famishing!! I hope that you will join me in memory the farmers and when you have the chance, give thanks the husbandman for wall hanging in there, contempt the pathetic beef cattle prices, the hapless porc prices, etc. Rember, the price you give in the shop is NOT the price the granger acquires — it’s not even close!!
A Supplication for the Husbandmen
Lord, what have we through with
to our land
and to those who work the Fields?
We have used up
without yielding back
without thought
to the results.
Rupturing up,
rupturing down,
deracinating living,
and cover everything v
with a hard, unappeasable essence.
You afforded us this earth
to keep an eye on all over
to seem after.
Forgive us Lord
for what we have made.
Our shipways convey decease to the soil.
We have been so interested
with our desires,
that we have ignored
the demands of others.
In our lust for quicker
larger, better(?)
we have misplaced sight of
those who aided
get our body politic what it is today -
the farmers.
Help us to call back
as we go about
our daily tasks and
readying repasts,
that without the farmers
we would not feed.
Without the tree diagrams,
we would not take a breath,
and the grunge would eat at
causation dust all about.
Grant to the farmers
posture to go along,
rain and sun for their crops,
religious belief in You
and in humanness,
renderring the nutrient we need
to live on.
God sign the farmers.
